Craig R. Ellefsen was a loving father, son, brother, uncle and cousin. He was a great friend to all who knew and loved him.
Craig was very proud of his Norwegian heritage, as a Viking he stood at 6ft, 6 inches tall. His heart was just as big. Craig was always thinking of others, keeping in touch, wishing them well and ready to help with whatever was needed. He loved to see you laugh, and all the better if it was at his own silly expense. Craig was one of a kind, and his fun, generous and loving spirit will be greatly missed.
Craig's greatest joy in life were his two children Ryann and Robert. He loved them with all of his heart.
Craig is survived by his children Ryann and Robert Ellefsen, his mother Kathryn McInerney (KV), his sisters Lori Abel and Christine Higgins, along with their families. He was preceded in death by his father Robert H Ellefsen
Friends will be received Saturday February 10th
2pm - 6pm
Service at Funeral Home 5:30pm
Followed by a Private Cremation

Craig.... I can't believe I'd let it go so long without seeing you. I miss you buddy. You had the biggest heart I know... hell, you were the biggest guy I knew. I would never have thought a guy like you and a nerd like me would ever find common ground, but I loved every minute I spent with you. I think about those days you, me and Denise ran that tiny boutique rental department... you were the hardest worker and always made the clients feel like part of the family. You made me feel like part of your family, and that meant more thanyou could ever know.

I left Staten Island 20+ years ago. Craig was one of the dozens of friends from whom I departed. But frankly, I haven´t had him in mind for years. No reason apart from ... life moves forward.

Now that I´ve heard of his death, I literally can *only* think of good times spent with him. He was, as some say, a good boy. He truly was.

We worked together. We partied together. We skied together. We had great times.

One time, Craig organized a ski trip to Camelback with his friend and invited me. His buddy, Chris Mozzillo, Craig and I were transported to the mountain by Chris´s Dad. There may have been beer involved. What a deal!

Chris could ski backwards as easily as he could ski forward. This was before twin tips. I was stunned. Turns out that Chris was one of the fallen firefighters during the September 11, 2001 attacks. I know Craig was devastated.

Craig was PADI certified a few years after I. I found diving to be a logistical horror; Craig loved all of it. Craig, with great passion, shared great tales of diving, grabbing "bugs" (lobsters) and doing technical dives I´d never attempt.

We worked together in a family company, and we WERE family as our boss was my great friend and also Craig´s brother in law. Holidays and special occasions were spent together as expected.

Bob...Craig´s (and Lori and Christine´s) Dad taught me how to drink Akvavit. Oof. Still - great times.

"Skál!"

I´m sorry Craig. I should have stayed in touch.

8 years sitting across from him on 11th Avenue in NYC. Like a giant little brother to me we went through it all during that time. I will never be able to recite all your famous "one-liners" but I'll keep the best ones alive in your honor brother. Love you.

I miss you so much already. We came into each other's lives both in situations we didn't want- you made me smile & laugh again when I never thought I would and damn we had some fun. You will forever have a piece of my heart. I hope your children will always know how they were always 1st in your mind & heart. Don't know what I'm going to do without your texts & calls every day. Hvil I Fred Minn Venn (rest in piece my friend).
