We are deeply saddened to share that Craig Robert Johnivan, 63, of Muskegon, MI, passed away peacefully from natural causes on January 23, 2026. Born on August 5, 1962, in Fremont, MI, Craig was the son of Eugene and Mary (VanLue) Johnivan. He was a proud Army veteran who served as a heavy equipment mechanic and later made a mark in the construction world as a skilled log home builder at Maple Island Log Homes.
Craig was a devoted husband to Sue Bissard, marrying her on August 5, 1983, and he cherished her until her passing in 2014. He kept himself busy with his passions - hunting, fishing, and creating wood art - always finding joy in the simple things.
He is survived by his brother Jerry, his sisters Cindy Schmeck and Melinda (Bill) Robinson, as well as his step-children Rob and Rebecca Maycroft. Craig will be missed by his nieces and nephews, including Tressa Johnivan, Cassie Weaver, Jeremy Johnivan, Alex Melkirk, and Nick Schmeck. He was preceded in death by his wife Sue, brother Wayne Johnivan, and nephew Ken Johnivan.
Though we mourn his passing, we'll remember Craig for his big heart and the love he shared with family and friends. A private family gathering will take place in the coming months to celebrate his life and share cherished memories.
In the meantime, we invite you to share your thoughts and memories on his online guestbook at www.clockfuneralhome.com. Craig will always hold a special place in our hearts.
