Craig Johnson Obituary

Craig Philip Johnson was born on November 11, 1943 in Washington DC. 80 years, 4 months, and 17 days later he died peacefully in Rockville Maryland. A celebration of life with family and friends will be held in the coming weeks.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be sent to the AMV Benevolent Care Fund or your favorite charity.
Dad was a loving husband, married to his sweetheart, Robin, for 56 years. A wonderful father to his eldest son Phil and the indomitable rascal, Sam. A welcoming and inclusive father-in-law to Justine and Danielle. A deeply loving grandfather to a gaggle of grandkids: Ben, Olivia, Joy, Osborne, Faith, AJ, and Calvin.
He was a military veteran, serving in the military police corps before starting his long career in civil service for the US Coast Guard, Department of Transportation. After retiring he chose to start a new career as a special police officer retiring again over a decade later.
His love for travel and cruises was well known. Together with Robin the pair traveled the globe, exploring distant islands; Europe, Africa, and Central America. The house is filled with his photographs and mementos.
When not traveling; collecting knives and watching TV, from his 'spot' on the couch, were his favorite pastimes. If a BBC murder mystery series, the Rifleman, or something from the 12 seasons of Murder She Wrote wasn't blaring on the TV when you visited, then he probably wasn't home. His memory lives on with his family and friends.

Nicest person one could ever meet, always. An honored in-law. Absolutely devoted to Robin. Smart, calm - comfortable. Sly sense of humor. Honorable. "His was a good life well spent."
