Craig Kent Schofield was born in Anchorage, Alaska on November 11, 1971 to Barnard Kent Schofield and Jeanne Theresa DelNobile Schofield. He graduated from East Anchorage High School in 1990. As a member of The Boy Scouts of America, Craig earned an Eagle Scout Award, the highest rank attainable. Craig was a proud member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and went on to serve in the Utah Ogden Mission. Later, Craig attended Weber State University for two years, where he was the captain of the bowling team. The love of sports was a huge part of Craig from an early age. At the age of 5, Craig began bowling and eventually was awarded the Anchorage Youth Sportsmanship Award. In later years, he continued his love of bowling by joining several bowling leagues. Soccer was another sport Craig loved to play. He began playing soccer in first grade and continued playing through his high school years on his school’s soccer team. Craig was an avid golfer and spent much time on the course with his mom. Basketball was his favorite sport and he lived and breathed the Utah Jazz. Even though Craig loved the Pittsburgh Steelers football team, his family loved him anyway.

While working at Smith’s Grocery store in 1998, Craig met Rebecca (Becky) KaLynn Beraz, the eternal love of his life. They were married on January 6, 2000 at the LDS Manti Temple for time and all eternity. This temple had special meaning for both Craig and Becky. They loved to watch movies (while talking through the whole movie), play in bowling leagues, golfed together, taking trips, and watched a lot of football, basketball, baseball and golf on TV (all while again talking through the games.)

Craig passed away in the early hours on July 24, 2024, from myotonic dystrophy complications and heart failure. Craig is survived by his eternal companion, Rebecca (Becky) KaLynn Beraz Schofield, his mother Jeanne Theresa DelNobile Schofield, and preceded by his father Bernard Kent Schofiled. He is also survived and preceded by many members of his large, loving, energetic family filled with brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, and cousins which loved him with their whole hearts. He will be deeply missed by all.

Graveside services will be held Monday July 29, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah. Family and friends may visit Monday from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. prior to the graveside.
