Craig Alexander Stroup

Craig Alexander Stroup passed from this life on October 13th, 2025 in Modesto,

CA at the age of 68. Craig was born on March 2, 1957 and raised in Tracy, CA. He

Attended St. Bernard's Catholic School and Tracy High School. He graduated

From University of California San Francisco in 1985. After completing paramedic

Training in Los Angeles in the early 1980's Craig began his career in emergency

Services where he worked as a paramedic, an instructor and later as an EMS

consultant. He was very dedicated to his profession, was widely respected in the

field and authored several training books and manuals.

Craig married the love of his life, Kim in 1980 and the two began a journey

of faith and family that lasted 45 years. Craig valued his family and his

faith above all else in life. He was a man of significant accomplishment but

received his greatest pleasure and pride from his family, including his many

grandchildren. He had an innate generosity of spirit and was always willing to

offer his time, support and advice to any family member or friend who needed

him. Throughout his life, he mentored and encouraged many in finding and

maintaining their faith. Craig had a good sense of humor and enjoyed people

and was a loyal friend. He was active in St. Bernard's Parish where he served as

both a Eucharistic Minister and a religious educator.

Craig is survived by his wife, Kim Stroup; four children, Vince Stroup (Emily),

Garrett Stroup (Angie), Stephen Stroup (Kayla) and Jill Stroup. He was blessed

with 10 grandchildren, Kane, Pierce, Hudson, Parker, Drake, Dylan, Koltlyn,

Kolbie, Kaycee and Klayton; siblings, Tamara Stroup, Paul Stroup and Mark

Stroup (Jennifer) as well as many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Opal Stroup and his

older brothers, James L. Stroup (Arma) and Kevin Stroup (Sharon).

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, October 21st at 11 a.m. at St.

Bernard's Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Avenue, Tracy, CA. A

viewing will be held at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 South Central

Avenue, Tracy, CA on Monday, October 20th from 2-6 p.m. with a

rosary following at 6 p.m. Burial will be at Tracy Public Cemetery,

501 E. Schulte Road, Tracy, CA.
