Creig Kelley
Creig Michael Kelley was born Oct. 20, 1948 in Kalamazoo, MI and died on Jan. 2, 2026 in
Midland, MI after a prolonged illness.
Creig lived his life by the saying, "Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of
smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, 'Wow! What a ride!'
Whether it was downhill skiing, piloting airplanes or jumping out of one, he never met an
adrenaline rush that he didn't pursue.
He was a graduate of Vicksburg High School and attended Western Michigan University, but
took a hiatus from pursuing his education to open a number of health clubs throughout
Michigan. He ultimately graduated from Saginaw Valley State University with a degree in
chemistry and worked as a chemist at Dow Chemical for 19 years.
He is survived by his wife Katherine (Warnez) Kelley; daughter Michelle Kelley and son-in-law
Curt Neeb; sisters Denise (Steven) Morren and Janice (Ted) Hembroff; and several brothers and
sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Fred (Ila) Kelley and Alma Kelley, brother Mark Kelley, and sister and brother-in-law Cassandra and John Garton, mother and father-in-law Emil and Mary Jean Warnez, and brother and sister-in-law James and Peggy Warnez.
Creig has been cremated, no services will be held.
