On the Feast of the Transfiguration, God called our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and friend, Mrs. Cristina Garcia, 91, to her heavenly home, having been faithfully surrounded by her family and prayer during her illness.
She is preceded in death by her son: Juan Garcia; granddaughter: Gabriella Angelica Valdez; parents: Irineo Astudillo and Julia Aponte; siblings: Pedro Astudillo, Apolinar Astudillo, Cirilo Astudillo, Agripino Astudillo, Ignacia Astudillo, Clara Astudillo.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 61 years of marriage, Juan Garcia; children: Iris (Eugenio) Cardenas, Alma Rosa Garcia, Isabel (Jorge) Santos, Narcedalia G. "Gabby" (Alberto) Valdez, Jose Juan (Monica) Garcia, Liliana (Mario) Ortiz, and her nephew that she cherished as her son, Pete (Cristina) Astudillo; grandchildren: Arturo Cardenas, Alma Eugenia Cardenas, Laura Elena Cardenas, Jorge Santos, Ivan Santos, Alejandro Garcia, Valeria Valdez, Carolina Garcia, Andrea Ortiz, Jose Juan Garcia Jr., Mario Alberto Ortiz Jr., Dulce Maria Valdez, Emmanuel Garcia; great-grandchildren: Aaron Santos, Addison Santos, Amalia Elena Ramos, Anahi Eleana Ramos, Andres Santos; great-greatgrandchildren: 6; siblings: Justina Astudillo, Josefa Astudillo, Abraham Astudillo, Elvia Astudillo, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive condolences on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 5 to 9 pm at Hillside Funerals and Cremations, where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will be offered for the repose of her soul at 7 pm, led by Rev. Deacon Mr. Juan de Dios Benavides.
Funeral service will commence with procession at 8:20 am on Friday, August 8, 2025, from the funeral chapel to San Vicente de Paul Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 am.
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Jorge Santos, Ivan Santos, Jose Juan Garcia Jr., Emmanuel Garcia, Mario Alberto Ortiz Jr. Pete Astudillo, and Alejandro Garcia.
