Cristina Enriquez Self

Cristina “Cristy” Enriquez Self, 79, of Doyline, LA, passed away of natural causes on February 9, 2026.

Born on December 18, 1946, in Pasig Rizal, Philippines, Cristy was the daughter of Pilar and Servilliano Enriquez. A woman of great ambition and intellect, she graduated from Arellano University in Manila as a Registered Nurse. Her career in nursing served as her bridge to the United States, bringing her to Shreveport, LA.

It was in Shreveport that Cristy met David Self. Together, they built a life and a family, raising their two children, Daniel and Patricia, in Lake Charles, where she began a lifelong legacy of care.

Cristy was a force of nature—straightforward, deeply resourceful, and remarkably dependable. While she possessed a legendary work ethic, she was best known for her playful spirit and a one-of-a-kind sense of humor that could brighten any room. Her generous heart knew no bounds; she was always the first to offer help to anyone in need. In her quiet moments, she found joy in the simple things: gardening, crocheting, cooking for her loved ones, and doting on her beloved cats and dogs.

She is survived by her children, Daniel and Patricia Self, her husband David Self, and a community of friends and family who will forever miss her vibrant presence.

A memorial visitation and service will be held on March 1st at 4:00 PM at Sportsman’s Fellowship Church in Doyline, Louisiana.
