Cruz Trevino Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Robert Massie Funeral Home - San Angelo on Jan. 5, 2026.
Cruz Martinez Trevino, 75, passed away Friday, January 2, 2026, in San Angelo, Texas. Surrounded by her family. Public viewing will be Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM, with the Rosary being prayed at 6:00 PM at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Thursday, January 8, 2026, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Ryan Rojo, officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Cruz is survived by her children, Dominic (Inez), Eugene (Monica), and Jeremiah (Amber); her grandchildren, Brandon, Haleigh, Jackie (Alberto), Jathan, Leyla, Sierra, Steven, Ector, Lexey and nine great-grandchildren; her siblings, Leon (Lupe), Santiago (Adela), Nate (Donna), Frank, Rosie, Cheva, Josie and numerous neices, nephews, and cousins. Cruz will join her husband, sister, and parents in eternal life. Cruz was born on May 3, 1950, in San Angelo to Joe Martinez and Petra Martinez. She attended Central High School, where she met the love of her life, Mario Trevino. After they graduated in 1969, they were married on November 14, 1970. Cruz was a natural nurturer who welcomed everyone into her home with a warm meal and a seat at her table. The title she wore most proudly was "Grandma," a name she was affectionately called by everyone, not just her grandchildren by blood or marriage.
Caregiving was Cruz's calling, a role that fit her spirit. She poured herself into caring for others, finding joy and purpose in tending to those who needed her most. Her phone was an extension of this devotion. She loved nothing more than regular check-ins with all her babies and grandbabies, making sure everyone was doing well.
Cruz cherished the bond she shared with her sisters, and together they traveled in flocks, living their own version of the "Golden Girls." Their adventures and laughter were a testament to the joy that sisterhood brought to her life.
Cruz was known for her devoted contributions to St. Mary's Church, where she could often be found attending services, volunteering, or gathering with her prayer group, the Morning Glories. Prayer was Cruz's superpower, and she prayed relentlessly for her community and family. Without a jealous or judgmental bone in her body, Cruz saw only the good in others. This important life lesson she imparted to all, to accept others as they are and seek the goodness in everyone, was the example she lived by every day.
Pallbearers will be Cruz's grandchildren: Brandon Trevino, Jackie Trejo, Alberto Trejo, Haleigh Trevino, Jathan Trevino, Leyla Trevino, Maritssa Garcia, and Marc Garcia. Honorary pallbearers will be Christian Garcia, Nich Castro, and Lexey Fernandez.
The family would like to add a special thank you to Shannon Medical Center, Home Health, and her dialysis unit.Sign the online register at www.robertmassie.com

Sincere condolences to the family of Cruz. She was a woman of pure love of God. I was blessed to have met her at St. Mary's Catholic school in the 60's. May Our Lord hold her in His arms and may peace embrace the family. Blessings.
