Crystal Lynn Smith, 41, of Pomaria, passed away unexpectedly at her home.
Born on December 26, 1982 in Newberry, she was the daughter of Melvin and Donna Harris Smith. Crystal was a 2001 graduate of Mid Carolina High School and a 2003 graduate of Piedmont Technical College. She was presently employed with DoorDash and previously worked at the State Accident Fund and Medical Services of America. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church.
Crystal could be described as a very independent individual who loved all animals and was a Clemson Tigers fan. She enjoyed spending time with her boyfriend, Cole Waitulavich.
She is survived by her parents, Melvin and Donna Smith of Pomaria; a brother, Jason Lee (Shannon) Smith of Pomaria; a nephew, Cal Smith and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Crystal was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Burr and Ann Harris, paternal grandparents, Gary Lee and Dot Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, February 4, 2024, at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church by the Rev. Jeff O'Dell. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the church sanctuary.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorials be made toward her funeral expenses c/o McSwain-Evans Funeral Home, 1724 Main Street, Newberry, SC 29108 or online.
Active pallbearers will be Wes Melvin, Brad McIntyre, Matt Velasquez, Kyle Smith, Jonathan Smith, Lee Livingston and Brandon Berley.
