James Rama
James Rama, a devoted father and grandfather, formerly of Bristol, CT, passed away on October 14th, in Canandaigua, NY. He was 76. Born on August 15, 1949, Jim was the son of the late Statia (Morytko) and Hilary Rama. He grew up in Terryville, CT, attending Terryville High School and the University of Connecticut, where he earned a B.A. degree in Biology. Following his education, he served as a medical lab specialist in the U.S. Army Reserve. Jim's career was a testament to his inquisitive and outgoing nature, where he found success in applying his talents. He began as a lab technician at Bristol Hospital and the Newington VA before transitioning to a long and successful career in clinical medical equipment sales management at Beckman Instruments. Known for his expertise and willingness to mentor others, he was a highly respected figure in his field. Jim was a loving and dedicated family man. He cherished his role as a husband, father and grandfather, finding immense joy in spending time with his loved ones, sometimes commuting hours to be home with his family every evening. He is survived by his daughter ,Bethany Gallant, and her husband, Richard, and their son, Timothy, of Hebron, CT, his son, Jason Rama, and his wife, Amy, and their daughters, Aubrey and Caroline, of Victor, NY. He is also survived by many close friends who were like family. Jim was predeceased by his beloved wife, Christina (Roman) Rama, his sister, Loretta Kunicki, and his brothers, Thomas and Richard Rama. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday (October 21, 2025) at 9 AM from Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, to St. Ann Church, 215 West St., Bristol, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM. Burial, with military honors, will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, 522 Terryville Ave., Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at Funk Funeral Home on Monday between 4 and 7 PM.
