In addition to his parents, Curt was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Katlynn Nestor.
Curt is survived by his wife of 37 years, April (Cole) Hiatt, whom he married on July 5, 1987; his children, Kelly (Justin) Everhart of Celina, Jason Hiatt of New Weston, Josh (TJ) Hiatt of New Madison, and Amy (Jarred) Lewis of New Madison; his grandchildren, Danielle (Austin) Didier, Emma (Mason Billenstein) Hiatt, Landin Hiatt, Eli Hiatt, Landon Hiatt, Kinnley Lewis, Brooklin Hiatt, Maddie Lewis, and Jordynn Everhart; his great grandchildren, Brynlee and Braxton; his siblings, Teresa Via of Greenville, Cheryl (Tom) Purdy of Palestine, and Sonya (Scott) Hill of Hollansburg; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A proud graduate of Tri-Village High School, Curt dedicated over 34 years to owning and operating Acme Plumbing and Heating, establishing himself as a trusted and capable professional in Darke County and the surrounding areas. Known as a true jack of all trades, his hard work was driven by a deep commitment to his family and community, helping anyone in need. Curt gracefully balanced his professional achievements with a heart for service, evident in his nearly 20-year tenure as a Liberty Township Trustee, where he worked tirelessly for the betterment of his community. Beyond his professional endeavors, Curt cherished the great outdoors. Whether boating, camping, or exploring the trails in his Jeep, he found joy in nature and adventure. In his free time, Curt could be found in his barn tinkering on his next project. However, it was his family that he cherished above all, and he delighted in every moment spent with them, sharing laughter and creating lasting memories. His ornery personality and contagious smile brought light into the lives of those around him and will be dearly missed.
