As an Army Veteran and mother of now 3 active duty servicemembers I thank you for your ultimate sacrifice SPC Curtiss A Carter. I received your name on a card today in honor of remembering our fallen this Memorial Day 2022. May God continue to bless your family and bring them comfort in sweet, sweet memories of you. You will never be forgotten.

In 2 days it will be 11 years that your soul left this earth. I still grieve for you, my tears flow freely, my heart aches so. I am so proud to be able to say you are my nephew, I love and miss you. Thank you for your sacrifice. You will never be forgotten.

I would like to express my sorrow to the family of Curtis Carter for their loss. Although it has been several years since his passing, I still offer my thanks for his military service.

well, Tiffany and I spent a good part of this year in South Asia. We went in as teachers and ended up having to take care of a group involved in child abuse, labor violations and human trafficking. There were some scary times, but we are back in the United States, and Tiff is expecting our first child in September. Thank you for your willingness to serve. You are not forgotten.

I can still remember the day you heard I was going to Utah for my internship. I believe your response was something like "Ogden, why would you want to go there? There's nothing there but snakes and rodents!"
Well, after I graduated from Purdue, I came back and have been here for 9 years now. I absolutely love the mountains, I've done well in my career, and have found a beautiful wife Tiffany. We hope to be starting our family when she graduates in December.
You were the first, and thankfully so far the only of my friends to die in this war. I still remember hearing of your death, I went home and cried for you. Even though we weren't close, I always enjoyed working with you at the YMCA. All the young boys thought you were cool... or they were just plain scared of you :-). I remember how we all watched and listened to you when you came back on leave after graduating from basic. We could tell then you were going to suceed in the millitary, you did well, we are all still proud of you.

I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

If this person can stand in battle to ensure my freedom, then I will stand in grief with his/her family to honor him/her. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guest book for the rest of my life, but I promised Le Ron A. Wilson (a dear friend KIA 7/6/07, 18yrs old) that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
