Curtis “Curt” Ray Greiner was born on September 7, 1953, in Ortonville, MN, to Lawrence and Margaret (Frahman) Greiner. He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith. Curt grew up in the Wilmot, SD, area and attended Wilmot School.
Following his education, Curt remained on the family farm, helping his family and assisting other local farmers with milking cows. He later worked at the sale barn in Sisseton, SD, and eventually at the sale barn in Watertown, SD. On his way to work, Raymond O’Farrell faithfully picked up and transported Curt to the sale barn until it closed in the mid-1990s.
After the passing of his parents in the late 1990s, Curt moved to Watertown. Due to declining health, he was unable to continue working in his later years. Curt found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially fishing, and he took great pride in milking cows during his younger years.
Curt is survived by his brothers: Roy (Diane) Greiner of Wilmot, SD; Glenn Greiner of Milbank, SD; and Steven Greiner of Milbank, SD; sister-in-law, Lynette Greiner of Wilmot, SD; four nephews; and four nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Lawrence and Margaret Greiner; and brother, Dennis Greiner.
