I am so sorry to learn of Curt's passing.. it had been quite some time since we had talked. I moved to Sioux Falls 10 yrs ago - we kept in touch for awhile. Curt was a very caring person, he went out of his way to do a very kind thing for my son. I always enjoyed visiting with Curt. My condolences to his family.

The hazardous driving conditions this morning have kept me in Sioux Falls, but I really wanted to be in Aberdeen to show my respects for one of the really great people I have known. Curt had real courage, a fearlessness of sorts, that was inspiring. I will always remember him as a voice of stubborn conscience. That made him a leader.

Uncle Curt will be greatly missed by everyone. He has inspired so many people through all of his journeys in life. He always had a story to tell and no matter who you were - you would learn something from his stories. An absolutely amazing person who always believed in himself and his family. We miss you and love you.. Cherie Sauvage (Stickney, SD)

Cassie and Pandora,
In remembering Curt I can only think of happy things, and the gratitude of having him as an uncle runs deep. I know that he touched many people, through his work and his family. His legacy is an inspiration. He left us much too soon, but he will long be remembered.

My love and condolences,
Jackie

Dear Hohn Cousins, Cindy and I extend our deepest sympathy. Thanks to the efforts of my Grandmother Eileen Eggers we got the chance to spend a lot of time with you during the summers. I have many memories of travleing to the farm and maybe getting into just a little trouble too.
May your memories of Curt carry you through these next few sad days. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

I had the privilege of getting to know Curt through South Dakota political issues. He was a selfless champion for principle and a patient mentor. Like Curt, I am one of 12, and it was delightful to hear him tell about his family. I’m grateful for having known him and I wish the family comfort in your sorrow.

I just read Uncle Curt's obituary and it is amazing how you were able to capture exactly how he was. Reading about his funny stories, his impersonations, and his love for history brought instantly so many memories to mind. Thank you for that. He was an amazing man and I will miss him very much. He meant the world to me and I will never forget him.

I was very sad to hear of Curt's passing and my prayers are with your family at this time. Curt was a great voice for South Dakota and loved it so. I had the pleasure of working with Curt during his 2000 campaign for Congress. He will truly be missed...such a great guy. Joy Fischbach - Phoenix, AZ (originally from Warner, SD)
