Pederson-Nowatka Funeral Home - WatertownCurtis Alvin Malmanger, 78 of Watertown, entered heaven on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, surrounded by family.
Curt was born in Fairmont, Minnesota and at the age of 10 was born again through salvation at Camp Patterson. On March 22, 1969, he married Susan Resman and they treasured over 56 years together.
Curt graduated with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Math Education from Bemidji State University, a second bachelor’s degree from Pillsbury Baptist Bible College, and an earned PHD in Applied Statistics from the University of Northern Colorado.
He taught high school math in Menahga, MN from 1969 to 1973 and in Denver, CO from 1984-1986. He ministered as a math professor and football coach at Pillsbury Baptist Bible College from 1973 to 1984 and at Maranatha Baptist University from 1988 to 2014. Additionally, from 1990-2016 he taught evening math classes at Madison Area Technical College. He also served as a volunteer firefighter and as deacon and financial secretary at his church.
Curt loved III John 4 and rejoiced in seeing former students and football players serving God faithfully. Some of his favorite memories included 3 football team missions’ trips to France, Ireland, and Israel. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether it was going camping, gardening, deer hunting, or fishing with family in Canada’s wilderness.
Curt is survived by: his loving wife Susan; children Heidi Malmanger, Mark (Karrie) Malmanger, Kipp (Betsy) Malmanger, Benn (Stacy) Malmanger, and April (Jared) Meachum; grandchildren Drew (Niah), Kate (Caleb), Ella, Lindsay, Lucy, Aspen, Jonathan, Kody, Evan, and Elise; and siblings Dawn (Brian) Tuttle, Brad (Diane) Malmanger, Scott (Vicki) Malmanger, and Robin (Bruce) Magnuson.
Curt is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Evelyn (Jurgenson) Malmanger.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given in Curt’s name to Camp Chetek or Calvary Baptist Church of Watertown.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Calvary Baptist Church of Watertown with Rev. Dr. Robert J. Loggans presiding. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00am. Curt will be laid to rest at Ebenezer Moravian Cemetery at a later date.
