He was born on November 25, 1957, in Red Oak, IA, to the late Neil and Ruby Mae Potter. While working together at a Department of Energy facility in Piketon, OH, he met and fell in love with Pamela, who would be his devoted wife of 40 years.

After a short time living in Arizona, where he worked for a Department of Defense facility in Litchfield Park, Curtis and Pamela moved back to Chillicothe, OH in 1988. He went on to spend the majority of his career at the Department of Energy facility in Piketon, OH where he had previously worked.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Hansen and brothers-in-law, Steve Beer, Frank Dees, and Randy Hansen.

Curtis is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Potter; daughters, Kayla (Jeremiah Waggoner) Potter of Boston, MA, and Deidre (Dorion) Kempf of Grove City, along with their children, Theodore and Norah. He will also be missed by siblings, Marcia Beer, Donna Dees, Ken (Diane) Potter, and Norman (Linda) Potter; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and his beloved granddog, Marlo.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, craftsmanship, and cherished memories, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 10:30 AM, at the Griswold United Methodist Church.
