Curtis "Curt" Clinton Russ, 91, of Bladenboro went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 2, 2019 at Southeastern Hospice.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Ezra and Litha Evers Russ, his brothers Fletcher and Ervin Russ, sisters Myrtle Russ Blackburn, Thelma Russ Davis, Shirely Russ Baxley, and Winnie Russ.
He worked for Bladenboro Cotton Mills for most of his adult life, then working for the town of Bladenboro until his retirement. During the time he worked for the town he started a lawn care business and operated until his mid-eighties. He was a member of First Assembly Church of Bladenboro where he served as a deacon, played the guitar and sang with his wife.
Curt is survived by his wife of 69 years, Clelia Dent Russ, his daughter Peggy Russ Kinlaw and her husband Ben of Barnwell, SC, his grandson Jonathan Kinlaw and his wife Katie, his two great grandsons, Thatcher and Harrison Kinlaw of LaFayette, GA, sister Emma Russ Davis of Clarkton, and a special brother-in-law Edward Dent and his wife Marilyn of Bladenboro.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service is planned for Sunday, September 8, 2019 at 2 pm at First Assembly (Revelation) Church in Bladenboro with Rev. Anthony Hardin officiating. Burial will follow the services in Singletary Cemetery at Sandhills in Bladenboro.
The family would like to thank West Bladen Assisted Living and Southeastern Hospice for their love and care during his time of illness.
