Curtis Schultz Obituary

Curtis M. Schultz Sr., age 63, of McHenry, died Friday, July 1, 2011, at Centegra Hospital - McHenry.
He was born July 22, 1947 in Chicago to Clifford M. and Helen (Sanborn) Schultz. On February 19, 2004, he married Lynn Soldano in Las Vegas.
A resident of the McHenry area for almost 30 years, he was a DC power engineer supporting cellular telephone system networks. He was employed by Illinois Bell Telephone Co., Motorola, Lucent Power Systems and later owned Schultz DC Power in Fox Lake.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1969 with a tour in Vietnam from 1968-1969.
An avid fisherman, he especially enjoyed fishing in Canada, Wisconsin and the Chain O’Lakes. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and in-laws to wonderful and exotic places, discovering the beauty this world has to offer.
Survivors include his wife, Lynn Soldano; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dolores and Charles Soldano; sisters-in-law, Laurie (Ray) Kaufmann and Lisa Soldano; a special friend, Carole Lenihan; his step-mother, Barbara Gerber; two sons, Curtis Schultz Jr. and Eric Schultz; three grandchildren, Ashley, Dawson, and Shelby; a brother, David (the late Fran) Schultz; a sister, Jeanine Clark; and nieces, Emily, Taylor, Tenele, Nicole, Becky, Heather, and Brandi.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2011, at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry, IL 60050.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Interment will be private.

Curt was one in a million. Happy, funny, and would tell it like it is. Old School in everything he did from his sense of humor to the quality he put into his job and his relationships. If you look up “Good Guy” in the dictionary – there should be a picture of Curt’s smiling face. He will be missed.
