Lamb Funeral Home - WhitewaterCynthia “Cyndi” Bowen August 11, 1973 – October 21, 2025 Cyndi Bowen lived her life with creativity, compassion, and a fearless sense of adventure. Born on August 11, 1973, in Vancouver, Washington, to Wesley and Virginia (Young) Merrill, Cyndi grew up with a curious spirit and a love of learning that followed her throughout her life. She graduated from Prairie High School and went on to earn her certification as a pharmacy technician from Clark College in Vancouver. Her strong work ethic and kind heart led her to a long and fulfilling career with Costco, where she worked in Washington, Texas, and eventually in the Wichita area. Cyndi’s coworkers quickly became family—drawn to her warmth, laughter, and generous heart. She had a special gift for making others feel valued and cared for. Cyndi’s adventurous spirit also led her to one of life’s greatest blessings—her husband, Jon Bowen. They met through her motorcycle group, “The Vancouver Coyotes,” and their shared love of the open road sparked a deep and lasting connection. Cyndi and Jon were united in marriage on June 18, 2017, in Las Vegas, beginning a beautiful new chapter together. Cyndi’s life was rich with creativity and curiosity. She had a knack for diving wholeheartedly into new passions—whether it was jewelry-making, photography, knitting, or gardening. During the pandemic, she mastered canning and filled her kitchen with homegrown goodness. More recently, she discovered a love for cooking and baking, especially Asian cuisine, which she approached with her trademark enthusiasm—learning from videos, experimenting fearlessly, and sharing her creations with those she loved. Those who knew Cyndi will remember her boundless kindness, her bright smile, and her giving heart. She always put others before herself and found joy in making life more beautiful for everyone around her. Cyndi’s legacy lives on through her beloved family: her husband, Jon Bowen of Potwin; her children, Shelby Beaudoin of Andover, Travis (Petra) Beaudoin of Chicopee, Massachusetts, and Alexis (Jack) Croom of Gilbert, Arizona; and her adored grandchildren, Greyson, Graham, Lukas, Elena, Lilian, and Ivy. She is also survived by her brother, Phillip Merrill of Winfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Virginia Merrill. Cyndi passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. Her life will be celebrated with family and friends on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Whitewater Community Church.
