Cynthia Ranae Box (Cheek), Cindy, 58, passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 13, 2024, at her home in Clinton, Oklahoma.
Cindy was born in Tahlequah, Oklahoma on December 29, 1965, she was the daughter of Fredrick and Louetta Cheek. She attended Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma studying education with the dream of becoming a teacher. She discovered her passion for insurance and began her career with State Farm Insurance in their regional office in Dallas, Texas. She later became a State Farm agent with her office located in Clinton, Oklahoma in 1987.
Cindy enjoyed trail riding, nature, animal rescue support, was an avid Trump fan, and her farm life. Her pug, Pugga, meant the world to her and they welcomed a new addition, a Scottie named Murphy, to their family and every day she made sure they were put first. Cindy and Pugga are now reunited side-by-side. In her farm life, her horse, Rosie, was her most pride and joy. Many stories she would share involved riding Rosie through the trails, and she always looked forward to the next trail riding trip. When Rosie wasn't bucking her off, she would run through barbwire fences, or trying to escape the land. Rosie always keeping Cindy on her toes. She was a strong supporter with her favorite animal rescue organization, Fetch Inc. Although, with all her hobbies and animals, her most prize title was being called "Aunt Cindy" to her beloved niece and nephew, Taylor and Kellen. Cindy loved her times with Taylor and Kellen when they were little, taking them to the fair and allowing them to eat whatever they wanted whether it was cotton candy for breakfast or corndogs on a stick, as long as they followed her only rule: you had to hold her hand at all times. She loved filling them up with sugar and bringing them back to her brother, Jimmy. She will be remembered most by her contagious laugh and always having something funny to say, her independence and being direct with how she felt, and of course her stubbornness, she must get that from the Cheek side, but the true Cindy was the most caring and giving person to all her family and friends. She always put everyone else first.
She is survived by her parents, Fredrick and Louetta Cheek of Lawton, Oklahoma, brother Jimmy Cheek and wife Chrissy of Bixby, Oklahoma, niece Taylor Cheek of Princeton, Kansas, nephew Kellen Cheek of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Aunt Reba Cook and husband Jim of Richmond, Texas, Uncle George Cheek and wife Linda of Muscle Shoales, Alabama, Aunt Dixie Mitchell and husband Jerry of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and a host of cousins and close friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents James and Hellen Cheek of Vinita, Oklahoma, maternal grandparents Pleas and Louisa Trickey of Big Cabin, Oklahoma and Uncle Harold Cheek of Vinita, Oklahoma, Aunt Lora Mathis of Norman, Oklahoma, Aunt Ann Martin of Joplin, Missouri, and Rose Wolff of Jenks, Oklahoma.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 1pm at Kiesau Funeral Home, 2500 W. Modelle, Clinton, OK 73601.
The visitation will be held on Friday, September 20th 5pm-8pm.
