Cynthia Coll Obituary

Published by Greely Funeral Home on Jun. 19, 2014.
Cynthia J. (Amero) Coll, 54, of Gloucester passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a courageous battle with brain cancer. Cindy's family and close friends were by her side through this illness, and amazingly, her strength was her gift to them all. She was born in Gloucester, MA on December 28, 1959, daughter of Nancy A. (Beckett) Amero of Swampscott and the late Charles R. Amero, Jr. Cindy was raised in Gloucester and was a graduate of Gloucester High School, and also attended North Shore Community College. Gloucester was always her home. She was employed for Project Adventure in Beverly for many years as the Director of Finance and Administration. She had previously worked as the financial director for the YMCA and an accountant at Strong Leather Co. Cindy was an avid reader, traveling the world in pages while still being near her family. She enjoyed playing games on her computer, especially sudoko and spider solitaire. Every weekend you could find her playing board games with her family. Cindy had a great love of all animals, especially cats. The greatest joy in her life was her 5 year old grandson, Charlie. They were inseparable. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her two sons, David R. Coll and Daniel Coll both of Gloucester; her mother, Nancy A. Amero of Swampscott; three grandchildren, Charlie Coll, Jason McKenna and Kayla McKenna; two sisters, Wendy Creighton of Swampscott and Diane Amero of Rochester, NY, and sister in law Rosmary Amero of Gloucester; nieces and nephews, Mackenzie Creighton and Michael Creighton of Swampscott, Christine Ng, Doreen Ng, Rachael Ng, and Wayne Ng; great-nephew, Shinji Delgado-Ng, of Rochester, NY, and Alex Amero of Gloucester. She was predeceased by three brothers, David, Jack and Paul Amero. Her memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 26, at 6:00 p.m. in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. A visitation will be held prior to the service on Thursday from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. The burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701. Online condolences may be given at www.greelyfuneralhome.com.
