Cynthia J. Pinder, 74, of Harrisville, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at her home, surrounded by her family.
Born October 18, 1951, to Donald E. and Eleanor M. (London) Collins in Harrisville, MI, she was raised in Mikado and Lake Orion. She returned to Alcona County in 1982. On April 1, 1995, she married Richard Pinder in Mikado. Cindy worked and retired from the Alcona County Sheriff Department. She loved her horses, and served as a 4-H leader helping area youth work with horses and ponies. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, and crochet, and always had an afghan prepared to celebrate family milestones. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Cindy is survived by her husband, Richard, three daughters, Kerry Volant, Korina “Kory” Hart, and Rebecca “Becky” (Dan) Holowatyj, one son, Ryan (Linda “Niki”) Pinder, seven grandchildren, Hailey (Chris) Adams, Kayla Hart, Allison Hart, Chloe Holowatyj, Mason Holowatyj, Meglyn Pinder, and Jordon Pinder, three great grandchildren, Maleana Senko, Mazie Mruk, and Mavrick Adams, her sister, Dianne (Bob) Short, her mother-in-law, Cecile Collezo, her father-in-law, Cecil (Charlotte) Pinder, brothers and sisters-in-law, Tammy Morang, Debbie (Dave) Smalstig, Donna (Todd) Lovelace, Linda Pinder-Bianco, Lisa (Rick) Myrick, Cecil Pinder, and Megan (Joey) Leonard, numerous nieces and nephews, including David (Tina) Short, and her lifelong best friend, Rita Sands. She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Tami Gleason.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 8, 2025 from 12:00 PM until the funeral service at 2:00 PM at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln. Rev. Char McGuire will officiate. Memorial donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
