Cynthia Remick Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by J.S. Pelkey and Son Funeral Home on Dec. 5, 2025.
Eliot- Cynthia Ann Remick, 66, passed away surrounded by loved ones at Portsmouth Regional Hospital following a brief illness.

Cynthia, better known as Cindy, was born in Dobbs Ferry, New York, and moved to Hartland, Maine, at the age of 12, eventually moving to Pittsfield, Maine, where she worked at the Marie Bradford school for special-needs youth. In the following years, she would move to Eliot, where she would meet the love of her life and best friend, Steve, and together make a home and start a family. Cindy had a special love for childcare, which she made a career of, as well as working as a Matron for the Eliot Police Department. Cindy enjoyed fishing out on the boat, loved being home reading a good book, and being with her family. She especially loved spending time with her granddaughters, whom she referred to as her littles. Cindy also enjoyed her yearly trip to Carlisle, Pennsylvania, scouring the fairgrounds for car parts with her husband. She also looked forward to shopping on Black Friday with her sister, Dale. Cindy had a great fondness for angels and proudly displayed them as figurines around the house and yard.

Cindy was predeceased by her mother, Patricia Martin, and father, Charles A. DeGuisto, and brothers Joseph, William, and Charles. Cindy is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Steve, daughter Kelly, son Sean and his wife Katie, sister Dale (Chippy) and husband Timmy Nichols, Granddaughters Amelia and Riley Holden-Remick, and Lila Remick, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A service will be held at J.S. Pelkey Funeral Home on Saturday, December 13, at 12:00 P.M., with a reception to follow.
