It is with broken hearts, and we are saddened to announce the death of Cynthia Gail Wachtendorf. She died Monday morning 12/18/23 at the age of 68 after a courageous battle with cancer at her home in Red Oak. She attended Cedar Hill schools and completed her GED in 1973.
Gail is survived by her sisters June Moon (1961) and Randy; Nadine Masterson (1969) and Jim; brothers David Rollins (1967) and Michael; Dale Rollins (1973) and Barbara. Children Joey Brashear, and Angie Brashear. Grandchildren, Marshall Embree and Tristan Embree, and Tyler and Skyler Brashear.
Great grandchildren, Nolan, and Cheyenne Embree. Numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Margaret Rollins and brother James Rollins (1960) of Cedar Hill.
Gail was happiest and took great pleasure in being with her family and enjoying life in general. Gail was a wonderful mother, a sensational grandmother and an excellent great grandmother. She also enjoyed a cup of coffee in the morning and a cigarette throughout the day, as well as gardening and was an excellent calligrapher with remarkable penmanship. She worked in HR/Payroll for Executive Coffee and Lofland Steel for most of her career, ultimately retiring from Lacy Construction Company.
