I and my family were blessed to have known Dick. He was a man who lived the definition of a Christian life. He was a kind, patient, selfless, generous, in short, a genuinely Christian, soul. He taught my son and other students of Juniata County Christian Homeschoolers woodworking with - to use a cliche - the patience of Job and never asked for a dime for his long hours of time. My family is blessed to have two pieces of furniture crafted by Dick at his shop: one a side table that I wanted to make but that would not have been able to complete without Dick's skilled hands to correct my mistakes, and, the other, a gorgeous, cherry China cabinet. Both are heirloom quality that I will pass down to my sons. His outstanding skills as an artisan are a mere reflection of the quality and goodness of the inner man. Our loss is Heaven's gain.
Rest in peace, Dick. You have left behind a beautiful legacy attested to by our memories and the quality and love reflected in your craft.
