Daisy Parks Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Davis Funeral Home - Roxbury on Feb. 20, 2024.
On February 13th, 2024 Daisy Parks, also referred to as "Ms. Parks" in the neighborhood - passed away in God's grace peacefully with family by her side. Daisy was born on June 23, 1946 in Salisbury, North Carolina and is preceded by her parents Daniel Parks and Priscilla Luther Parks. She was the middle of 5 children, gone before her: brothers Eugene, Daniel & Sister Estella.
Daisy leaves behind her son Carl X. Parks, Daughter Cheri Epps, son-in-law Jerry Epps, 3 grandsons, Sister Nellie Parks, Nephew Robert Parks & a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, second sons/daughters & extended family members.
Daisy grew up in North Carolina, attended school there and being the adventurous person she was - struck out on her own and moved to Seattle Washington. She journeyed to Maine and then to Boston, MA where she settled and had two children. Daisy furthered her education and went to Wheelock College where she earned an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Development with extra credits towards a bachelors degree. She worked at Bromley Heath Infant Day Care Center for years and took a sabbatical to stay at home with child. It was at this time, that she became a staple in the community by taking all the children on day trips to museums, the aquarium, parades and other activities (this included, feeding everyone in the neighborhood with individually wrapped hotdogs and fresh baked cookies...). She was very close to all the families and called all the children in our village her own. She was and still is well respected as the "MOM" of the community (everyone had their own special relationship with her).
Daisy went on to work at ASEOP Academy, The Council for the Elders and then retired; while remaining active in the community and touching so many lives. She had a presence that said "I don't play" and an equally compassionate sprit that was so inviting, you may just reveal everything about yourself with complete confidence she would guide you on the right path. Her ability to connect with people young and old was what made her so beloved (it was in her eyes). And, just knowing she was around seemed to make all that crossed her path in life feel safe, loved and cherished. Always witty, open and willing to provide her special wisdom to any situation, made being around her spirit infectious and memorable in departure. She will always be reminisced about through the hearts and souls she touched along her life's journey.
Daisy walked with a regal confidence that was felt by all (her jacket, hat & sunglasses where her signature uniform). She will be remembered and respected for her competitive spirit during board games, not liking to take pictures, honesty, caring, motherly love, simplicity, intellect, perseverance, strength, belief in God, love for self and respect for others. She will be missed now, forever and until the end of time... This is in memoriam of her life - well lived and well loved.
God's blessings & peace.
