Dakarai Ali (Dak) Mason, 43 of Cartersville Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on May 19, 2024. He was born on September 30, 1980 in Charlotte, North Carolina to Daldred Mason and Brenda Reeves Mason. He is preceded in death by his wife, Erin Mason; his step-son Brandon Xavior Crawford; son, Titus Hezekiah Mason; and his grandparents Ethel & Johnnie Mason Sr. and Elizabeth & Usher Reeves.
Dak was an accomplished artist. He graduated from The Atlanta College of Art in May 2004 and put together computer animations and recently published a book, called Hate Management. He graduated from the Police Academy and was awarded several Medals of Commendation from various law enforcement agencies. He loved grilling and smoking any kind of food and loved his family.
Survivors include his mother, Brenda Mason; father, Daldred Mason; son, Noah Mason; sisters Letithia Mason, Jasmin Mason, and Stephanie Mason; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Friday, May 31, 2024 at The Church at Liberty Square located at 2001 Liberty Square Dr NE, Cartersville, Georgia 30121. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at the church. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens located at 790 Indian Mound Rod, Cartersville, Georgia 30120.
Serving as pallbearers will be Rechard Oglesby, Marlon Porter, Thomas V. Holcomb IV, Johnnie Mason Jr., Travis Sanders, TJ Lee, John Weeks, Gear Wood, and John Rogers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta in honor of Titus. Donations can be made by visiting www.choa.org.
