Dale Elwin Bueltel, son of Leo and Dorothy (Bierl) Bueltel, was born February 3, 1939, near Templeton, Iowa. His family moved to the Carroll area where he attended St. Peter and Paul through the eighth grade and graduated from Kuemper High in 1957.
On October 22, 1960, Dale was united in marriage with EllaMae Schwabe at Sacred Heart Church in Maple River. Four children were born to this couple. Dale and EllaMae farmed near Lidderdale until 1964 when they settled on the farm in Iowa Township near Manilla. When they retired in 2005, Dale and EllaMae built a new home and moved into Manilla.
Dale was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Church in Manilla. Throughout the years, he served as lector, eucharistic minister, and rosary leader, sang in the choir, and was a member of the Holy Name Society. Dale used his amazing woodworking skills to craft memories for many family members and his church over the years. His love of antique tractors and restoration led him to enjoy tractor parades across Iowa during the summers. Additionally, he and EllaMae enjoyed many fishing trips together.
In July of 2023, Dale began experiencing a decline in health and passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at his home in Manilla, at the age of 84 years, 10 months and 14 days.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Deb Mathies, and a sister Mary Jane Irlbeck.
