Dale Bumpers

Our deepest condolences to the Bumpers family, may you draw comfort from our heavenly Father who cares for us and promises to one day due away with sickness and death forever and reunite us back with our dear loved ones under peaceful conditions on earth, Revaluation chpt 21:3,4

I grew up hearing wonderful things about Dale Bumpers from my mother, Sue Ellen (McIlroy) McConnell. Her older brother, Paul McIlroy, was good friends with Dale as they grew up in Charleston. My dad tells the story of when we visited the Governor's mansion in the early 70s of Gov. Bumpers saying, as we walked in, "Well, Sue Ellen, I was there the day you were born!" And also my dad sharing that even though his "mother was Republican", she was a big supporter of Dale. My Aunt Gladys and Uncle John Bollinger and their daughter Nancy Bollinger were also very proud of Dale.

As a family member I am so happy to tell you Dale was our Pride and joy. My mother was his cousin she always told me he would be a Senator some day and she was right. He never let us down he was honest as the day was long. What was good for people,Arkansas and America was what he did. So long Dale we will miss you.

Bumpers for supporting my dad, Dr. Tony Hobbs, Judge Olly Neal, Mrs. Sarah Sauls,and other African Amer. fams; when others tried to prevent the opening of the Lee Co Coop Clin. in Marianna, AR. As a kid growing up in Charleston. I remember Dale Bumpers as a wonderful leader. Betty and family our thoughts and love are with you. R.I.P. Dale.

My Condolences for Dale Bumpers for his family. He will be missed . Always believe in him. He was my attorney many years ago. Had fond memories of him. Was in his office when he first told us of him running for office.

My prayers of peace to the family. My sister Phyllis worked for Senator Bumpers for 15 years, I volunteered in the summer. We loved the core and very essence of Senator Dale.

I am so sorry for your (and our) loss of Senator Bumpers. I feel as if I knew him, perhaps because he was another good Democrat. Thank you for standing by President Clinton, as you did. What a loss to this Country! Rest in Peace, Senator Dale Bumpers. You will be greatly missed.
