Dale Allen Gress, 62 passed away peacefully at Lakewood Landing Assisted Living on May 15, 2025 surrounded by family. Dale courageously battled cancer and will be missed by family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM, Friday, May 23, at Eastgate Funeral service, 2302 E Divide Ave, Bismarck. Visitation will begin at 3:00 PM with coffee and cookies until the service.
Dale was born in Richardton ND on February 7th, 1963. He graduated from Richardton High School in 1981 and went on to receive his CDL training and certificate at Dickinson State University.
Dale participated in Football and Rodeo during his High School years. He desperately wanted to follow in the footsteps of his big brothers love of riding bulls at local and High School rodeo’s.
Dale’s passion from a young age was tinkering in the shop and eventually rebuilt a 1955 Ford pickup that he painted cherry red. His 2nd passion was being an over the road trucker with many trips to the east and west coasts while working for J-Mar Trucking Inc. of Bismarck. He loved red so it is not surprising he asked to drive the cherry red one while working for J-Mar.
Dale is survived by his mom and dad, Joyce Neidhardt Gress and Melvin Gress of Mesa AZ: siblings, Lynn (Lisa) Gress, Cary (Jolene) Gress and Faye Bergan Gress (Scott). Nieces Alyssa Froehlich Gress (Nathan), Macy Gress, Hailey Haberman Gress (Brent). Nephews, Dylan Gress, Erik Gress (Annie) and 7 grand nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Julius and Bertha Gress and Albert and Joan Neidhardt. Brother; Scott Gress (Sandy), niece, Cody Gress. Uncles; Jim and Don Neidhardt, Raymond and Marc Gress, Aunts; Ruby Neidhardt Hoff (Don), Claudia Lindeman Gress (Ken), Evie and Lucy Gress.
