Dale Milton Hanson passed away peacefully at his home in St. Charles, MN surrounded by family on September 8, 2025 at age 74.
Dale was born in Spring Grove, MN on October 21, 1950 to Orville and Irene Hanson. He attended school in Mabel, MN. He continued his education at Winona Vocational Technical College for welding until graduating in 1972. He then worked as a welder at Quarve Anderson Construction Company for many years and was a member of the local 49ers Union.
In his free time, Dale enjoyed fixing up old cars, his favorite being the '55 Chevy. He also enjoyed watching baseball games, his favorite team being the Twins, and watching NASCAR races. Most of his spare time was spent with his wife, Carol, who he married on March 21, 1970 at Christ Lutheran Church in Preston, MN. He will be remembered for his kind heart, tough attitude, and care for others.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Irene Hanson; brothers, Ordell, Curtis, and Dennis Hanson; Sisters, Norma Johnson, Joan Cheney, Ione Selness; and daughter, Sharon Hanson.
Dale is survived by his wife, Carol Hanson; Sons, Eric (Connie) Matson of Fort Worth, TX, Brad (Angie) Hanson of Rochester, MN, Duane (Amy) Hanson of La Crescent, MN, and Mark (Connie) Hanson of Rochester, MN; Grandchildren, Harley Matson Sr, Josh Hanson, Olivia Thomas, Emily Bjugan-Hanson, Natalie Hanson, Garret Hanson, Ella Hanson, Corinne (Joe) Laplante, Seth Riess, Isaac Riess, and Grace Riess; and Great-grandchildren, Haley Matson and Harley Matson Jr. He is also survived by siblings, Alan (Becky) Hanson of Rushford, MN, Special Granddaughter, Ashley Jeche of Chatfield, MN, and Foster Son Nick (Rachel) July of West Concord, MN, as well as many nieces, nephews, and good friends.
The memorial service will be held at Hoff Funeral Home in St Charles, MN on Saturday, September 13, 2025. Visitation will begin at noon and the service will begin at 1:00 pm. Afterwards, there will be a picnic lunch at Kiefer Park in St. Charles, MN.
