Dear Ann and family--
We were out of town last week, so I just now heard of Dale's passing, and am so sorry! I remember several years ago my daughter was dating a young man who always parked his truck in front of your house!! One day her boyfriend was up at Sheetz and locked his keys in that truck!! Dale just happened to be there at the same time, and he got that truck unlocked in no time! What a generous and kindly reaction! Our sympathy is with all your family. Martha and Jim

Ann,
You and your family have been in our prayers these many months. Dale fought a gallant fight. First UMC has lost a true saint. Our lives are so much richer for having known him. His 'delivery of the scriptures' was unique and meaningful, and brought them to life for many. His love for you and his family were second only to his love of Christ. Dale was truly a 'Good and Faithful Servant'. He will be missed, but his legacy will live on.
With love in Christ,
Melody Harmon

Tony, Ann and family- We just heard about Dale and wanted to let you know that all of your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Dale had a good sense of humor, and always had a quick come back. He and Mike were often seen chuckling over something at church. We may be miles away but are thinking of you at this time. It's a good life, maybe not always great, but it is good.

Though I never knew Mr. Hoffman, I do know his wonderful grandchildren: Taylor, Allie, and Christian. As a teacher, I have received much joy from knowing them. Their parents Tony and Teresa are amazing, supportive individuals. I know that Mr. Hoffman must have been a stellar role model, living as an example to his family. My prayers are with you during this time of loss.

I was so sorry to hear of Dale's passing. Since I moved to Winchester in 1980, the Hoffmans have been a good part of my life. The everpresent smiles as I passed the old shop on Braddock Street began a friendship that continued and strengthened as we sat in Lodge together. My God bless and comfort all of you. I share your loss, but rejoice in the sure knowledge that Dale's gone home to be with our Lord!

Dear Hoffman Family,
I am so thankful to have had the honor and blessing to have known Papa. He made me laugh and yet would always listen if I had a problem or needed advice. I don't think I have ever known someone that was so deeply loved and respected by so many people. My heart goes out to you all.

I met Dale while attending the Methodist church. We shared an enthusiasm history and non-fiction in general. When meeting it did not take long to bring up a good book and its meaning to us. I greatly enjoyed our discussions. I am glad to have know him.
