Dale E. Johnson

Dale E. Johnson, age 48, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at Avera-McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 14, 2023, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Pastor Steve Biswell will officiate.
Visitation will take place prior to services at the chapel on Friday beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Del Redday, Jamie Bauer and Jerry Pribbenow.
Dale was born on August 10, 1974, in Long Beach, CA, to Dale and Lurlene (Minnix) Johnson. He attended school in California, graduating from Polytechnic High School in 1992. He worked with his family at their family-owned restaurant named Dorothy's 24-Hour Café. Dale made the move to Watertown in 2005 where he did woodworking and custom cabinetry. He was most recently employed at ESCO Manufacturing.
Dale enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved trying new restaurants and was a big food guy. He was also a jokester who loved telling stories, some true, some not so true. Regardless, laughter was always the end result. Dale dedicated most of his adult life to spending time with his friends and family. His kids were his whole world.
Dale is survived by his children: Gage Johnson and Alasia (Isaiah) Soucy of Watertown, SD, and Kaiya Poll, Brianna Johnson, Zaiden Johnson and Keelyn Johnson, all of Tea, SD; his brother, JJ Johnson of Long Beach, CA; and numerous friends.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Lurlene Johnson and his aunt, Dorothy Schubin.
