Dale Wade Keever, age 86 of Canton, Georgia passed away on November 7, 2025, after a life well lived. He was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on August 16, 1939, the son of Wade Edward Keever and Rosalie Ausmus Keever.
Dale was an Eagle Scout at age 13 and graduated from West High School in 1957. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee in 1962. After serving six months active duty in the Army Reserves, Dale moved to Atlanta, Georgia in late 1963. His first job was in the mortgage department at D.L. Stokes company. He later worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company as regional inspector in the mortgage division and then became the southeast regional manager for General Electric Credit. Dale loved the real estate business and owned some rental properties in Atlanta and land in North Georgia. In 1976, he and Sam Toole, an old buddy from Knoxville, Tennessee started the Bowl of Red Chili House, a new concept fast serve restaurant, but after four years, he returned to the commercial mortgage business. Dale's last business venture was owning and operating an Insurance Agency that he later sold and retired at age 57.
Dale was happily married to his wife Dorothy for thirty-one years. They enjoyed cooking together, buying antiques, gardening, completing numerous projects for their home and taking care of their 13- acre old dairy farm property, and traveling when they could. Dale also had a love for cars and self-taught himself how to restore some that he owned. In addition, he was a true Tennessee Vols fan and enjoyed watching their football, basketball, and baseball teams.
Dale is preceded in death by his parents, Wade Edward Keever and Rosalie Ausmus Keever, his wife, Dorothy Bozeman Keever, and his brother, John Keever. He is survived by his stepdaughter, Sheri Kell Brauchler and her husband, Randy Brauchler, and step-grandchildren, Grace and Adison Brauchler.
Dale will be truly missed by his family and friends. He was an example of someone who loved well, showed generosity to others, and displayed a hard work ethic.
Dale's celebration of life will be a private ceremony with his family. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Dale, please visit our floral store.
