Dale Richard Miller of Scotts, MI passed from this earth and entered the presence of the Almighty on May 23, 2022. Dale was a lifelong Scotts resident and graduated from Climax-Scotts High School in 1971 where he enjoyed playing sports including football, baseball, and basketball. He joined his parent's family business, Miller Excavating, before beginning a 25+ year career with Bouma-Betten Construction. He met his future bride, Teri, after a softball game and the two wed in 1973. Dale was an active member of Haven Church in Kalamazoo, where he served as Elder, Deacon, and youth leader.
Dale served on numerous mission trips and service projects both locally and beyond. Dale's passion was family. He attended every sporting event, dance performance, band concert, choir concert, and more for his grandchildren that he possibly could. Dale loved playing and coaching sports. He coached various sports for his children as they grew up and was the Climax-Scotts Freshman Boys Basketball coach and Varsity Girls Softball assistant coach for several years.
He loved water skiing, playing cards, and traveling. Dale and Teri were able to travel together to amazing places including Hawaii and Alaska. His family and friends describe him as one of the hardest working persons you'll ever meet. If you knew Dale, he probably shingled your roof, hung the drywall in your basement, delivered you firewood, or framed your house.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Maxine (Stermer) Miller. Dale is survived by his wife of 49 years, Teri (Zudweg); children Ryan (Stephanie) Miller, Daran (Vanessa) Miller, Renea (Kevin) Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Faith Morris, Cora Miller, Emma Miller, Stella Miller, Dawson Miller, Tyler Fitzgerald, Jaxson Fitzgerald; sisters: Carole Cormier, Brenda Tessin; and many nephews and nieces.
