Dale W. Moyer

Dale W. Moyer, 84, of Souderton and formerly a longtime resident of Hatfield, died Thursday, February 23, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Mary Jane (Rufe) Moyer, his wife of 58 years. Born November 11, 1938 in Sellersville, he was the son of the late Walter and Helen (Clemmer) Moyer. Mr. Moyer owned and operated Dale Moyer's Barber Shop in Hatfield for 60 years, retiring in 2018. He was a proud veteran of the US Army and longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church, Hatfield, where he served as Council President. Dale was a charter member of the Hatfield Historical Society and past president of the Hatfield Chamber of Commerce. He was also an associate member of the Hatfield Fire Company and member of AWON (American WWII Orphan's Network). In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Michael D. Moyer (Cora) of Lansdale, and Mark D. Moyer of Philadelphia; granddaughter, Allison Moyer; sister-in-law, Phyllis Alderfer of Pensacola, FL; and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by his step-brother, Merle Alderfer. Relatives and friends may call between 9:30 and 10:45 a.m. March 7, 2023 at Grace Lutheran Church, 40 N. Main St., Hatfield, PA 19440 followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler. Arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Dale's memory to Grace Lutheran Church, address above.
