Dale E. Slater, a cherished husband and father, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2025 at home in Troy, PA at the age of 59. Born on February 20, 1966, in Montour Falls, NY, Dale spent his life embodying the values of hard work, community service, and family devotion.
Dale was a respected local businessman with a wealth of knowledge in auto and heavy-duty truck parts. His leadership at Point Spring & Driveshaft Co. in Troy brought significant contributions to the community, reflecting his dedication and pride in his work.
Beyond his professional life, Dale had a passion for attending auctions and enjoyed music. He relished the winter months, particularly snowmobiling, and took pleasure in gathering maple sap and tending to his garden. His love for sports was evident as he proudly watched his sons compete in high school wrestling and football. Dale also cherished time spent with family and friends on Armenia Mountain and found happiness in tinkering on anything with a motor with his son.
A devoted family man, Dale is remembered as a wonderful husband and dad. He is survived by his loving wife, Eileen F. (Becker) Slater, and his beloved sons, Kenyon Slater and Evan Slater. He also leaves behind his sister, Tina Kerrick Slater of Athens, PA; mother-in-law, Colleen Becker; sister-in-law, Michele Cygan; and brothers-in-law, Michael Becker and Wayne Becker, all of Allentown, PA. Dale's memory will be cherished by several nieces and nephews, along with countless friends.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Jane (Breese) Slater and Ronald E. Slater; his stepmother, Viola E. Slater; and his father-in-law, Wilbert W. Becker.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Dale's honor on Sunday, November 16, 2025, from 2:00-5:00 PM at the Troy Vets Club, 183 Veterans Dr., Troy, PA 16947. The Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. has been entrusted with the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dale's memory to the Troy Area School District Wrestling Booster Club or Football Booster Club, PO Box 164 Troy, PA 16947.
