Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home - Ottawa on Feb. 16, 2026.
Dale Robert Stratton, age 76, went to his final home in Heaven on Sunday, February 15, 2026. He was born October 24, 1949, in
Gloversville, New York, to the late Harry and Doris (Frodelius) Stratton. On July 7, 1973, he married Rosemary Miller, at her home in Jonestown, Pennsylvania. Together they pastored churches in Florida, Missouri, Colorado, and Kansas.
Dale was a fun-loving jokester. He had a quick smile and loved to talk. He enjoyed playing games with family and friends, and he loved hunting and the outdoors. But more than anything else, he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and spent much time in Bible reading and prayer. Dale was a dedicated husband, father, and pastor. He and Rosemary raised their children to live for Jesus. A testament to that is the fact that all five of his children are actively serving the Lord as pastors and missionaries today.
Dale believed in hard work and passed on a strong work ethic to his children. For many years, he operated his own business, selling and servicing phone systems all over the Colorado Springs region and beyond. He was also heavily involved in Christian education-both in schools operated by local churches where he pastored and at Hobe Sound Bible College, where he served as a board member for 30 years.
After the 2018 death of his wife, Rosemary, Dale married Janet Burton of Columbus, Indiana on May 1, 2021. She brought much joy and many smiles to his life and faithfully and lovingly stood by his side in his final years.
In addition to his parents and first wife Rosemary, Dale was preceded in death by his sister Kathleen (Stratton) McClain.
He is survived by his wife, Janet, of four years; five children and their spouses, Stephanie (Glenn) Gault of Lesotho, Africa; Stephen (Tracy) Stratton of
Oblong, IL; Jonathan (Joana) Stratton of
Hobe Sound, FL; Jeffrey (Shari) Stratton of Summerfield, FL; and Joseph (Fernanda) Stratton of
Ottawa, KS; twelve grandchildren-Carson, Kaitlyn, Ryleigh, Kristen, Grant, Kylie, Sabrina, Kristell, Caleb, Cole, Slate, and Ember; as well as his brothers Dennis (Gayle) Stratton of
Ashville, NY; David (Gladys) Stratton of
Clarion, PA; Daniel (Donna) Stratton of
Ashville, NY; Douglas Stratton of Gamerco, NM; and his sister Joan (Kenneth) Christy of
Coalton, OH. He is also loved and remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Visitation and funeral service will be at Pilgrim Bible Church in
Ottawa, Kansas, where Dale most recently served as pastor. A time of visitation will be held on Friday, February 20, from 6-8 PM. The memorial service will be on Saturday, February 21, at 10 AM, with his sons officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Mound Cemetery.
