Dale Wangsness

Dale Wangsness, 72, of rural Powers Lake, North Dakota passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at the Tioga Medical Center in Tioga, North Dakota.
Dale was born to Donald and Pearl (Haugen) Wangsness on January 11, 1951 in Kenmare, North Dakota. He attended school in Kenmare, North Dakota and graduated with the class in 1969. Growing up and throughout his school years Dale could usually be found helping his uncles on the farm.
After graduation Dale attended the North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, North Dakota and graduated in 1971 with a degree in Mechanics. Following his college graduation Dale moved to Stanley, North Dakota and worked for Prairie Ford for a couple years. He joined Alvin Trulson custom combining for one season, and then took a job with Solberg Implement. In 1978 Dale was united in marriage to Cathy Mollet at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Powers Lake, North Dakota. Together the couple made their home in Palermo, North Dakota until 1981 when they moved to the family farm. In 1979 Dale accepted a position with the Stanley School system and became the bus mechanic where he worked for many years before retiring in 1986 and becoming a full-time farmer and rancher. Dale and Cathy's family was complete in 1988 when his pride and joy was born, his daughter Kala.
Dale enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. Visiting with friends and family, and dinner around the kitchen table were important to Dale. He enjoyed the outdoors and would love to take rides on the side by side around the country side or his favorite spot, the North Unit.
Dale is survived by his beloved wife, Cathy; his daughter, Kala (Rory); sister, Pauline (Ed) Kremer; aunt, Debbie Haugen; nephews, Shannon (Chrissy) Kremer and James (Mindy) Miller; nieces, Tasha (Rob) Altringer and Dawn (Jeremy) Kunce; and many great nieces and nephews and cousins.
Preceding Dale in death is his parents; in-laws, Henry and Clarice Mollet; sister, Darlene Kremer; brother, Larry Wangsness; and many aunts and uncles.
