Dalila Portillo, age 60, of Mesquite, Nevada, passed away on February 27, 2026, at St. George Regional Hospital in St. George, Utah.
Dalila was born on January 3, 1966, in Tela, Honduras, to Adelina Gomes and Alfonso Pinto. She carried her Honduran heritage with pride and built a life centered on faith, family, and love.
She was married to her beloved husband, Julio Portillo, and together they shared 37 beautiful and happy years of marriage. Their love was a true example of devotion, partnership, and faith.
Everyone who knew Dalila knew she was always in the kitchen, sharing her love through her cooking. She was especially known for her famous pupusas — meals made with care that made everyone feel welcome and cherished. You could truly feel her love in every dish she prepared. Cooking was her way of bringing people together.
Dalila was caring, attentive, and always willing to give her heart to others. She enjoyed dancing, singing, worshiping Jesus, and spending precious time with her children, grandchildren, and her husband. She was the light of her family’s lives and always made them feel safe and loved.
She is survived by her loving husband, Julio Portillo of Mesquite, Nevada; her children, Karen Cortes, Herlin Cortes, Kevin Cortes, Cindy Pinto, and Nancy Pinto; and her 13 beloved grandchildren. Her legacy of love, faith, and generosity will live on through them.
A viewing will be held on March 6, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Star Mortuary.
Funeral services will be held on March 7, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at 1362 Hardy Way, Mesquite, Nevada.
