Dallas Dennis Obituary

DALLAS Q. DENNIS, SR.
March 31, 1942 ˜ August 18, 2023
Born: Falls City, OR. Passed: Vancouver, WA.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Cathy; two sons, Dallas, Jr. (wife, Viva) and Larry; two grandsons, Dallas III and Matthew (wife, Emily) and one great-grandson. He is also survived by two sisters, Mary Comstock and Ellen Dennis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Ray John and Lucy Pearl Dennis; siblings, Jack Dennis, Janet Poe and Shirley Williams.

Dallas and Cathy were married over 60 years. He was a hometown volunteer fireman. He worked as a plumber/pipe fitter at Boise Cascade paper mill in Vancouver for 35 years. He also served as the union treasurer and shop steward. Every home he owned, Dallas improved. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing and would often retell stories better than real life. Dallas volunteered as a youth adviser. Every weekend, he could be found watching sports_sometimes even awake! He dedicated his life to his family. Dallas often took the time to pass on skills and knowledge. He was a past worshipful master of Parkrose Masonic Lodge 179. Later in life, he was baptized at the Southern Baptist Church in Camas, WA.

The best way to honor his memory is to find Jesus, love deeply, live life as if each day was your last, and be willing to give the shirt off your back to a person in need.

Service will be announced at a later date.

Our condolences! Interesting Dallas passed almost one year after my uncle and his friend Roy Bishop. We all worked together at Boise.

My Uncle Dallas had a warm smile that could lift you up when you were feeling down. I'll always carry that smile and twinkle in his eye with me. I can feel in my heart he lives in peace with The Spirit. Knowing he and my mother are watching over us all gives me great comfort.
