Dallas D. Stettner

Dallas D. Stettner, age 89, a longtime Sidney resident, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Sidney Regional Medical Center. Services for Dallas will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sidney, with Pastor Ted Bourret Officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Services will be livestreamed on the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel Facebook page and recorded for later viewing on our website.
Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Monday, March 17th from 1-6:00 P.M. to leave condolences for the family. Family will be present from 4-6:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the donor's choice.

Dallas Stettner was born on February 28, 1936 on a farm west of Elgin, NE to Dean and Anna Stettner. He went to school in Clearwater, NE and graduated from high school in Sidney in 1952. After graduation he went to work for Filsinger Excavating. He then joined the Army National Guard in 1958 and was discharged in 1964.
He was married to Betty Cornett in 1960 in Meadow Grove, NE. To this union 3 sons were born, Rick, Randy and Rodney. He started his own business in 1978, "Stettner's Crane Service", and retired in 2010. He then started another business with his son, Randy. "D&R Crane & Welding" which his son now runs the business.
He enjoyed camping and snowmobiling with his family. He was a member of the Sidney Volunteer Fire Department and St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Dallas is survived by his wife, Betty, of Sidney, NE, three sons, Rick (wife Sharon) Stettner, of Cheyenne, WY, Randy (wife Kendra) Stettner of Lorenzo, NE, and Rodney Stettner (fiancé Joni Peters) of Lorenzo, NE, special helper Myrna Mueller, 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Dean and Anna Stettner, sister Naomi Mock, and grandson, Ty Stettner.
