It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dalton Ray Banks, who left us peacefully on November 3, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on January 31, 1936, in the small town of Scroggins, Texas, Dalton was a beloved figure in his community and a devoted father. He enjoyed watching football on tv, and working in the yard and gardening.
Dalton lived a full and vibrant life, characterized by his warmth and unyielding spirit. He was known for his kindness, wit, and the ability to lift the spirits of those around him. Whether sharing stories of his youth in Scroggins or offering sage advice, he always had a way of making friends feel like family.
He is survived by his loving son, Greg Banks and wife Donna of Anna, TX; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, who will carry on his legacy and the countless memories they shared.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Banks; son, Tracy Dale Banks; three brothers Donald Glen Banks, Ramond C, Banks and Daniel Maurice Banks; three sisters, Inez Winchester, Dora West and Louise Acker; grandchild, Brock Alan Banks.
Funeral services will be held in the coming days, where family and friends will gather to celebrate Dalton's incredible life. Details about the ceremony will be provided shortly, but we anticipate a heartfelt gathering filled with laughter, stories, and the love that Dalton fostered throughout his life.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to local charities in Dalton's memory, honoring his generous spirit.
Rest in peace, Dalton Ray Banks. You will be deeply missed, but your legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know you.
