Dalton P. “Dalt-Dalt” Thorpe, age 20, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, in Sylvania. A native of Screven County, Dalton moved to Reidsville during his teenage years and graduated from Tattnall County High School in 2023. Throughout his life, he bravely battled seizures, but he always strived to live a full and normal life. After high school, Dalton worked as a server at Huddle House all the while keeping an eye forward to his dream of earning a degree in computer science—a passion sparked by his love for video games. Dalton's favorite pastime was playing video games with his online friends on his PS5. He was also an avid fan of anime, drawn to its dynamic imagery and stories. When he wasn't indoors gaming, Dalton enjoyed the outdoors, particularly riding his 4-wheeler, feeling the wind in his hair, and soaking in the beauty of nature. Fun-loving, carefree, and kind-hearted, Dalton will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Brenda Holland.
Dalton leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory: his mother, Tisha Thorpe of Reidsville; his father, Elijah Owens of Sylvania; his sister, Diamond Goodson of Reidsville; a beloved nephew, Johnathan Davis Moody, Jr. of Reidsville; his paternal grandmother, Victoria Owens of Dover; and many other close friends who shared in his life’s journey.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the chapel of Low Country Cremation & Burial.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., also at the chapel of Low Country Cremation & Burial, with Rev. Butch Taylor officiating.
Interment will follow at Reidsville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be William Bryant Sr., Jonathon Moody Jr. Dylan Johnson, Gauge Talarino, Ozzie Merritt and Branden Hodges.
