Daniel Roland Blaisdell, was born in Waseca, MN, on March 18, 1944, to Erna and Merle Blaisdell. Dan grew up with two siblings, brother, Gary Blaisdell, and sister, Twila Sickman.
Dan went to Janesville school and later married Karen E. Spindler on April 22, 1967. They lived in Owatonna, MN, and Dan worked at OTC for 6 years. In 1973, they moved to Backus, MN. Dan worked at Willy’s gas station, went to Brainerd VO Tech training for brakes and air conditioning, Durkee Mfg, had his own business, D&K Lawn and Garden for 12 years, and finally Clow Stamping Co., which he retired from in 2009. He was involved with the Backus Fire Department for 5 years, belonged to the Lions for 4 years and was on the board of directors for 2 years. Dan was a member of the Snowmobile Club for 8 years and helped on the cleaning trails.
Dan was a trapper and did logging for a year; he loved to fish, hunt, and take care of his yard and garden. Dan loved his wife and spending time with his friends and family.
Dan is survived by his wife, Karen; daughters, Brenda (Pat) Reyle of Valley Falls, and Melissa (Brad) Blaisdell Reuter of Owatonna; grandchildren, Kayla Reyle, Jessica Reyle (great granddaughter Stevie Rae), Taitelynn (Nick) Dahle, and Carter Jensen (Megan Johnson); sister, Twila Sickman.
Dan is preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Erna, and brother, Gary.
Services for Dan will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pine River. A visitation will be held the hour prior to the service.
