Burnett, Sr., Dan

On January 15, 2025, Daniel Bradley Burnett Sr was called to rest. Dan lived a happy life of 77 years, born August 4, 1947 in Dayton, Ohio to Arthur and May Burnett. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister-in-law, Joyce Burnett and one brother-in-law, Robert Bowling. Dan leaves behind his wife Cyndy with whom he shared a home in Troy, Ohio. Dan had two children, son Dan Jr (Kathy) and daughter Dena Nidzgorski (Kevin) and one grandson Wes Nidzgorski. Dan enjoyed time with and leaves behind his brothers Jack, Tim (Carol), Mike (Karen), Mark (Tonyia), Matt (Kim) and two sisters Deb and Pam. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and his coffee buddies from McDonalds along with his stepchildren, Melissa (Greg) Wales and Chris (Erin) Wales and five step grandchildren Zachary & Benjamin Kessler and Lucille, Cassidy & Henry Wales. Dan served his country as a mechanic in the U.S. Army. Dan enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family during his working years and after retirement from Dayton Board of Education. Brother Dan was a member of Masonic Lodge 714 John W Durst in Dayton, Ohio. Dan will be remembered and missed by all, forgotten by none. Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 am on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, where the funeral service will begin at 10:30 am. Burial and military honors will follow at Willow View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ohio's Hospice of Miami County, 3230 N.
