Dan Chupita age 63, a lifelong resident of Menchalville, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 19, 2024. He was a son of the late John Chupita and Doris Steiner.
Dan attended Reedsville Public Schools, graduating from Reedsville High School in 1979. He was a BAC Union Member, working many years as a tilesetter for Bob Castellan of Sheboygan. Dan enjoyed the outdoors - hunting and fishing were his passions. He was also an avid Wisconsin Sports fan (Badgers, Packers & Brewers). There were two things he looked forward to: The fishing trip up north with his brother, Dave, visiting nieces and nephews; and deer hunting with family and friends in his own backyard.
Dan is survived by his wife, Kay (Schleis); step-son, Jeremy Schleis (Melissa); his brother, Dave Chupita; step-mother, Diane Chupita; step-sister, Amy; and grandchildren, Garrett and Aubree. Also surviving are brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law: Barb (Chupita), Byron (Vicki), Jackie (J.), Chipper (Kathy), Don (KayLynn), Carol, Dick, Beaner (Suzie), Barb (Don), Chico (Lori), Robert, Mary, Beaver, Emil, and Donna. Multiple aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Bob Steiner; mother and father-in-law, Lolly and Leonard Schleis; one brother, Gary Chupita; brother-in-law, Tim Mrotek; and a sister-in-law, Diane Schleis.
Dan's wishes were to be cremated with no services held. The family will gather for the burial which will take place at a later date.
