COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Mr. Daniel Lloyd Cooper, passed away on January 3, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on March 14, 1944, in Vancouver, Washington, Dan's life was one filled with adventure, service, and dedication to others.
Dan proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, exemplifying the values of duty and honor that defined his character. After his military service, Dan had a rewarding career with the Social Security Administration, where he contributed significantly to the welfare of his fellow citizens.
Throughout his life, Dan embraced the opportunity to explore the world, growing up he lived in several countries including Africa, India, Iran, and Switzerland. These experiences fostered a deep appreciation for diverse cultures, which he carried with him throughout his life. He resided in Florida before settling in Cookeville in 1980.
In his personal life, Dan had a variety of interests that brought him joy and fulfillment. He was a devoted motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed the freedom of the open road. He also found joy and tranquility in tennis and scuba diving. Dan's quick wit and sense of humor brought laughter to those around him.
Dan is survived by his sister, Linda Chandler of Hanalei, HI and a special friend for more than twenty years, Rose Haney and her family of Cookeville, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Quentin S. Cooper and Jean Kelsey Cooper.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, March 22nd at 11:00 a.m. at the Cookeville chapel of Hooper, Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home.
