Brown Owens & Brumley Family Funeral Home & CrematoryDan Walter Dempsey, 77, passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 5th, 2025.
Dan was born in Fort Worth, Texas on April 17th, 1948, and was a proud graduate of Polytechnic High School. He went on to build a successful career as a regional manager for Pizza Inn in Florida, where his leadership, integrity and work ethic earned him the respect of many.
Dan's entrepreneurial spirit shone through as he started his own business “The Weekend Fisherman”, where he created detailed lake maps for fellow fishing enthusiasts.
More than his accomplishments, Dan will be remembered for his heart toward others. He was truly a fisher of men, sharing the love of Jesus through his ministry and website. “His Place 2”, touching countless lives along the way. He was a member of Worth Baptist church; and as his health declined, he was grateful for their Youtube live streaming.
Dan loved the Lord, his family, fishing, gardening, and especially being a grandpa. He was a loving, devoted husband, and a loyal friend to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
Dan was preceded in death by his father Albert Danial Dempsey, his mother Thelma Loreen Greer Dempsey Lackey, his pop Clyde (Bullet) Lackey and his brother, Larry Wayne Dempsey.
He is survived by his wife, Patrcia Jean Baldwin; sister, Vickie LuAnne Atchley; Son, Thomas Danial Langley and his wife, Michelle Langley; Grandchildren, Robert Danial Langley, Taylor Rae Langley, Nathaniel Lee Langley, and multiple nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Memorial Service: Will be held on November 22nd, 2025, from 1-4 p.m. at Watauga Community Center 7901 Indian Springs Rd. Watauga, Texas 76148.
